Default Why We Do Not Frame Original Crate Labels

Not too long ago we framed original crate labels for many interior decorators clients and collectors. We framed it all between archival materials and took great care in every step of the way. It dawned on me recently that there really is a limited number of this beautiful art left. I feel the time has come for me to re-think what my objectives are in helping to preserve this wonderful art genre that has documented our nations agricultural and commercial art histories.

I have been involved with the commercial and fine art industries most of my life. I know what types of graphical reproductive processes are out there and what archival materials one should use in the act of art preservation. I am happy to say that we have achieved the middle ground when it comes to crate label decor. For those who want labels framed can have them, and those that do not want to see the labels subjected to whatever harshness they fear from sunlight, adhesives, moisture, etc. can have their fears dispelled.

Much better looking in person!

We have tested a new design that starts with a high resolution drum/flat scan of a crate label file that is then printed onto archival canvas. As long as the scan is of high resolution (100% from the original size), the canvas looks gorgeous!

The crate frame is manufactured for us from an outside vendor that specializes in cabinetmaking. The frame is very nice and very solid. The wood I have chosen is hickory and they make them to our size specifications. This is one way to decorate your kitchen with the labels that are really not affordable otherwise.

We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Sincerely,
Darlene Almeda
